Hello all, I'm from Louisville KY and brewed beer for several years. I've started to really like bourbon, and have a few friends with distilleries. So I thought I'd try my hand at this noble hobby. I recently purchased a T500 still, and a pump and 50 gallon barrel for cooling. So far I've made simple sweet feed shine, which turned out pretty nasty. But I'm a fast learner, especially for such a good cause!
I have several 14 gallon barrels of mash fermenting and will post how each works out. I'll also get some pics of my still worked up, once I find it a permanent spot.
Cheers,
Matthew

Hello, Matt_b.
We have a little favorite here called Honey Bear Bourbon (below, in my signature).
It may be something you work your way up to, though.
You may want to get some successful --read easier-- runs under your belt first before investing effort in that.
Check out our Tried & True Recipes to whet your whistle.
Success is a matter of following a proven plan and also reading a lot.
You'll make it.
Welcome!
