Howdy from Missouri

Post by Reverend Newer »

I've visited HD many times over the years and I am always amazed at the knowledge and amazing photos shared here. I am honored to be member.

I've read here for days and days and still learn something almost every time I visit.

We've been using a 16 gallon keg boiler and a stainless reflux/pot tower from mile hi but recently decided that I should build a copper pot before the prices of metal goes any higher. So far I am just collecting all the tools and parts I will need to built one. Gonna be doing a sugar BW run in the meantime to be ready for the holidays.

I'm sure that making holiday spirits is on many of your to-do lists. What is your families favorite holiday spirit?

Was planning to build a 20 or 25 gallon copper boiler and a shotgun condenser. Thought I might attempt the condenser first for a refresher as it has been a while since I've done any welding or soldering.

Hey, Reverend Newer.
St. Peters, MO here.

Homemade liquor for this holiday season:
Rum
Brandy
Cornflake Whiskey
Honey Bear Bourbon
Booner's Corn
Corn/Oats
Rye

ALL are favorites because of the good leadership and knowledge here at HD.
Good luck with your still, and I hope you have as much success with your drinks as I've had.

Welcome!

Shotgun condensers are my favorite build. I've never knocked out a copper boiler but I'm not done yet either.

Welcome!

Over here the holiday spirits are primarily gin and rum, but I've made some walnut brandy for this year, hope it'll turn out good.

Thanks for the great welcome everyone.

Wow a walnut brandy, never would have thought of something like that, very interesting. I was expecting rum would be high on everybody's list but I had not thought of gin, get a little of the evergreen flavor going with some sugar cookie candles burning.... yer set fer the season.

A favorite around here is handcrafted peppermint schnapps, we call it "liquid candy cane" goes good in hot chocolate. Makes you think your breath is fresh too.
