Checking in from Oregon

Post by rye-me-a-river »

25 years ago while I was courting my wife, I remember exploring some family land with her and speculating on the best site for a backwoods still. I am finally getting around to it, although the land is long gone (she had hoped I'd forgotten). This fall I found some copper cut-offs and taught myself to solder. badly. For the past few weeks I have been making multiple trips the h/w store, assembling pieces and rooting out tips from this forum. I am now ready to start commissioning my still (cleaning and sacrificial run) and have posted a pic for your amusement. I don't know really what I am making yet -- I never got into homebrew so this next learning phase is a bit intimidating.

I have a few newbie questions which I will post elsewhere, but in the meantime just wanted to say hi!

Welcome to HD. Glad to see someone does read a bit before posting a lot of question in their Welcome thread.

Welcome, check out the tried and true recipe section. I started with a Birdwatchers very easy to make for first batch.
