Glad to be here

Post by KCFD450 »

Nice to meet you guys. I've got several runs under my belt, but still new to the hobby. I've been a home brewer for 10 years now and decided to make the switch to distilling. I have been reading through the forums here for about a year and it's starting to come together. My first still was a Boka that I build from the templet on here. 2", 4' column with a 6" double wound coil condenser. First run through it was straight sugar with turbo clear yeast. It wasn't the best but made a great panty dropper. I have since built a pot still using the column(minus the boka head) and the 15.5 keg boiler from the first. I have done several generations of the UJSSM that I've aged with oak cubes and spirals. I'm not going to win any awards with it yet, but its good enough to drink, and the friends are happy for the free booze. Now that I've done a few, I know just enough to know that I still have a lot to learn. Thanks for all that I've learned so far, and for all the help I'm sure ill be getting in the future.

Seems odd a greenie like me welcoming someone with your experience. Come on in and join the conversations.
There's no reason why you shouldn't be "winning any awards" as you say. Maybe the good guys & gals here can fix that.
