Greetings from the deep south

Post by Lowchevy »

Greetings everyone! Just another slow rolling, whiskey loving country boy checking in. I've been wanting to get into distilling for a while, just never known much about it. A good friend of mine told me about y'all's site, and I must say, I'm completely blown away. I've spent the past week reading around here until my eyes bled, and I can't get enough. There is real art taking place here. I'm ready to get my feet wet, and am about to start my first build. Plan on starting small for a year or so until I get the hang of it. Just about to start on it this weekend. It will be a 16q ss pot with matching ss bowl for boiler, 3/4" to an 8q ss pot for my thumper, then 3/4" up and 45° down to my liebig condenser. Liebig will be 36" of 1/2", with a 30" 3/4" jacket. Thank you all for having me and I'm thrilled to be here.

Welcome, 16 qts. Is a bit small but it’s a start and I am guessing it won’t be long before you upgrade.

Thanks y'all I truly appreciate it. I'm hooked already to say the least, can't quit quit reading! Bushman, I haven't even started and you're already right. Trying to pace myself and take it slow.

A 16 liter boiler and 8 liter thumper? That is a fairly running start.

How deep are you Low?
I'm a few hours north of The Redneck Riviera myself.
Cheers & Merry Christmas.

Thanks for the welcome there bamaberry. I'm not to far off from you from the sounds of it, three hours north of the coast, dead center.
