Newbie from Australia

Post by Dingodog »

Hi all

Im new to brewing&distilling, i have been interested in it for a while but never really had the time and money in producing my own spirits and fuel. I have recently decided to take the leap an try my hand at it.

Currently purchasing the bits and bobs i need to buil my own 48 inch copper reflux still. Sort of have come up with my own design, a LM bodka design with a little bit of a CM integrated into it. I will post it up shortly for critique. Hopefully it will get the thumbs up.

So far i own a 50 liter keg an have got some copper pope and flanges, tri clamps and stuff on order.

I hope you can all tolerate my inexperience and help point me in the right direction.

I look forward to chatting to you all soon.

Thank you for the warm welcome. Im planning on just starting out with sugar washes distilling neutrals (or near neutrals lol) with high abv for the moment (seems the simplest way to start out and learn). After i Get the hang of it i might move on to other bigger better things.

I hear you can de tune a reflux still by removing the packing an then run it as a pot still so i figure futher down the track when i wanna start running spiced rums an things i can do that.

I just gotta build it

Hears my rough idea
