A new newbie

Post by mooshinenovato »

Greetings to all !

I've jus registered to this forum after looking at it for a while.
I know a bit about beer making and brewing and I wanted to start making stronger spirits out of it. I've decided to make my own still this year, classical beer keg pot still design for the moment, I'm not skilled in metalworks but I'll give it a try.
My main goal is to make decent whisky, grain alcool and maybe rum.

Thank you for all the information on this forum, very helpful for beginners.

English is not my mother tongue so I apologize if I'm not writing correctly.

Welcome, you have great goals! Beer brewing gives you a strong background for whisky. English is my only language, but I still struggle at times. Don't worry about getting your message across, this brotherhood is made up of outlaw distillers the world around. We are all here to improve our craft.
Enjoy and keep it safe!

Thank you for the warm welcome !
I'll start to get my materials next week, I'm kind of busy but I'll plan to get started in one or two month.
Anyway I'll post some pictures once my keg is modified.

Welcome Fellow N   B

I ASSuME you have done our "Required Reading"

Next step is Tried & True Recipes:
http://homedistiller.org/forum/viewforum.php?f=14

Best advice is to go down pick the ones you are interested in and narrow it down.
Uncle Jessie's is the most recommended first project, but find your own way.
Once you have picked one out, read the ENTIRE thread beginning to end.
If you have questions, post them there and someone who has done it can answer.
So much easier than, "well I found this recipe but....."

Best of luck
