HI everyone, newbie here from central Alabama.
I started out making mead and beer since 98 and found the home site years ago, but was never in a spot to be able to actually put together a rig.
I picked up a Brewhaus pot still a few years ago and made a couple of barely mediocre runs. Been re-reading the main site and have lurked around the forums for a little bit, but I've decided to give it a go and get started with all the information here.
I love a good bourbon and rye whiskey and scotch. Would love to make something in the line of Woodford and Buffalo Trace, maybe even Booker's. On the scotch side, Oban and Laphroig are my go to.
I have a 15 gallon and 5 gallon keg that just sitting here waiting to be turned into my new rig once I get some of the basics under my belt and have been reading every build post I can.
Already hit the newbies required reading list and plan to re-read it often.
Glad to be here and thanks in advance for all the advice!

Welcome from a Fellow N B in Alabama! I've been around about 8 months "Fizzik" is right about Tried & True.
There's a reason it's called TRIED & True. Find one, Read it ALL THE WAY THROUGH Follow it, It's the shortest easiest way to success!
I liked the flexibility of Jimbo's Wheated Bourbon & Gumball

Whether you like Wheat or a different Mash Bill, it's not difficult to follow and you basically get two products at about half the cost and effort.
Again, WELCOME Aboard and let me know if I can help. I'm about an hour west of Birmingham and occastionally drive through Montgomery to the Wiregrass.
Re: Newbie from Alabama
Thanks for the welcome guys.
The Tried and True has been keeping me busy planning out what I want to try first.
It's down to Jimbo's and UJSM.
Glad to have another local TDick!
