Where is the source of nutrients to keep the yeast colony happy and healthy...??? If you hadn't done enough research to know when the wash would be done then why did you even try starting it...??? This isn't a mash, it's a sugar wash... Please throttle it back and do what we consider mandatory research here in these forums as well as reading the entire parent site...

If it finishes it can be racked into a secondary vessel and will last months prior to distillation... If you can't get to it within a week or two that would be the best course of action... I've never had a problem with washes setting on the trub but better safe than sorry if the timeframe drags out too long...
thanks it would only need tho set to the week end then I could run.iv read the parent site a couple times now still not real sure how to checkwash with hydrometer I understad how to take the reading but dont under stand how it tells you its done thanks and sorry
You are looking for a reading below 1.000 / as the sugar is consumed by the yeast the abv potential drops. when no sugar is left then it is considered "dry"
That will depend on your recipe. I personally wouldn't shoot for a potential that high. You don't have a grasp on how to use the tools/ nor theory of this hobby yet - I would go back to reading some more info in the new distillers lounge.
Don't take it as me being a dick about it - but your new hobby will be a lot more enjoyable if you have a grasp on the process of it all.
sugar wash is.down to .998 and is done working keep in mind this was made with brown sugar yeast ,honey , and nutrients since numbers are good do I let it set for couple days or is ok to run thanks
