55 gallons of mash

Post by BamaBill »

Sure was nice to make three runs over a rainy weekend. I ran the whole drum and put up 7 gallons of 55-60 abv. Not waiting 7-10 days between runs was nice. Wish I had done this a lot sooner !

Yeah - Makes life a lot easier doesn't it ? We get winters here which stop my ferments without a lot of heat - so I use one to "Get ahead of the game" during the better weather.

Pikey, you remember the little cooling tower I made for my condenser? I used the same 5 gallons of cooling water to run the whole 55 gallon drum over this weekend. Looks like I lost about 2-3 gallons from evaporation and leaks.
