Question about mashing with enzymes

Post by panikry83 »

So, we've recently acquired some enzymes and I've got a quick questions. I watched them in use the first time at TBs and his protocol seems solid - water and HT enzyme, turn on heat and add corn, let her rip until 190F. I can do this on a small scale but, I'm more interested in 40 gallons batches once I get the hang of it. Can I use SCDs large batch method http://homedistiller.org/forum/viewtopi ... =3&t=65703 and just add the enzymes a third at a time or do they need to all be added at once?

get me best success heating the water to boiling, adding grain while stirring continuous, 1/2 dose HTL at 195* and the other 1/2 dose at 185*.
then GL and sebflo immediately after adding malt, target 150* (strike at about 156*)
stirring continuous if at all possible.
I finally quit drinking for good.

now i drink for evil.
