last 55 gallon ferment of the year

Post by dukethebeagle120 »

well,its getting cool
daytime in the 60s but nights are starting to freeze
made some good stuff this summer.
got a good hold on all grain also
i think my last ferment is gonna be another wheated bourbon
this stuff is to good
55lbs of corn
10 lbs white wheat
16 lbs malted wheat
14 lbs malted barley
socd method is the best
i really like the ease of mashing this way
thnx man
gonna do small mashes in the winter but no big stuff
maybe recipe development
maybe do some small barley runs and make some gin
done gin before and loved it.used odins recipe.
easy and good tasting
can`t wait to get back to big runs.
got 2 gallons of
80 percent corn
8 percent malt rye
12 percent malt barley
laid up and aging
got three gallons of
the mash i will be doing this weekend laid up
i like it alot
also got 2 gallons of rum laid up
gonna let it age for a while
till next spring for big runs

 cheers. Good to recenter in the winter. I just built a big ass wort chiller for 55 gallons, and turned it into a heater. I get more done in the winter

Hmm.
I heat with an outdoor wood boiler.
Now you got me thinking.
It runs at 185 f all the time.
I couldn't essentially cook for Days using à Wort chiller

+1, winter is an indoor sport for me too. I just loaded up on grain, got 4 big ferments going (since the new continuous mixer is working so good) and picked up a few new barrels.
It's gonna be a great stillin' season in the frozen north!

after all, can't be sleddin' and ice fishin all the time!
I finally quit drinking for good.

now i drink for evil.
