Cocktail of enzymes: will it work

Post by Seb »

Hello,

I plan to make 100% corn mashes.

I can get a cocktail of enzymes that is usually aimed at animal nutrition. Here the concentration of each enzyme.
Alpha amylase 400 u/g
Beta glucanase 700 u/g
Phytase 1100 u/g
Cellulase 6000 u/g
Xylanase 10000 u/g
Protease 700 u/g

I would like to know if the Alpha Amylase content will be enough if I put let's say 30 grams of that cocktail on a 280 litres/74 gallons mash made of 60 kilos/132 lbs of corn.
I understand that I will have to add a part of this cocktail at some different stages of the mashing because of the denaturation temperature of some.
I will appreciate your help

based on your user name, i'd think you should be telling us...but if you are not associated with http://specialtyenzymes.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow
maybe you could ask them and follow up here.

you are right about the temperatures, but i'm not up on the concentration measurements of my seb enzymes, so i'm not sure of the quantity of g/L
HTL and GL dosage is 0.2-.0.8g /KG grain or (.35mL / pound of grain)...not sure how many u/g per mL active ingredient is tho...
I finally quit drinking for good.

now i drink for evil.

Yes. That's the problem.

No, I don't have anything to do with any enzyme manufacturer. It's just that my name is Sebastian.

Well I tried 600grs/1,322lbs of grits in 2800ml/95oz of water
I boiled that until porridge. Let sit until 80°c / 176F
I then put 0,32grs of that enzyme mix diluted in some water
Nothing happened,
Now a bit cooler I put 0,5grs more
Even cooler i put 1,5grs more
Then I stopped because it doesn't work.
I let cool down with some more of the mix overnight: nothing.
It doesn't work.
