First Run in 25 years...I remember this a little more..

Many like to post about a first successful ferment (or first all grain mash), or first still built/bought or first good run of the still. Tell us about all of these great times here.

First Run in 25 years...I remember this a little more..

The wash was done.
The pot was done .
The condenser was sitting there...calling to me.

So I sealed the pot, filled it and went to town. 4 Hours later, I have about 3/4 gallon of first run, and about 2 quarts of tails. Took of the first 150 ml on each batch ( about 2.5 gallons a run) and dropped that on the wood outside in the fire pit...Hehehehe. Nice lighter fluid. Took the run, parted off about a 1/4 cup and softened it to the point where there was no bite. Smells a bit like tomato and yeast. Not surprising considering I skipped the thumper since I just found some 2 inch.;). Mixed a little with some juice...and Im sitting here with a solid buzz and no trace of headache or worry.

Stuck it under the cabinet and labeled it as solvent.
Cant wait to reflux this stuff. I was going to rerun it, but I think I want to wait til I get my columns built. I used to run stuff like this three times and then filter during the process. Really looking forward to the reflux method.
Sure did bring back some fun and warm memories, though. So glad I found this site.
Thanks guys and gals!
