My first still test cleaning run

Many like to post about a first successful ferment (or first all grain mash), or first still built/bought or first good run of the still. Tell us about all of these great times here.
Pics are VERY welcome, we drool over pretty copper 8)

My first still test cleaning run

Post by sonshine »

Hi all, I did my cleaning run today with vineager/water,
just connected the leibig up and ran it flat out, will do a 2 gallon sugar wash sacraficial run later this week and try and have a go at running the cooling coil and cold finger and see if I can get this equalibrium going in the column in a practice run.
Quick question, I just about got a constant very slow trickle with the heat ( 100 deg C at outlet ) up full and cold distillate in jar, would this go any faster with an alcohol wash, or will this be as quick as it goes.
I did insulate it for the most of the run.
Cheers for all the help so far.
