First Parrot

Many like to post about a first successful ferment (or first all grain mash), or first still built/bought or first good run of the still. Tell us about all of these great times here.

First Parrot

Here's a pic of my first parrot build. She may not be Marilyn Monroe, but she's functional! I tried to get creative with the 3/8" soft pipe, but found it doesn't bend as easily as the 1/4" stuff and kept me from turning the radius I wanted. However, i've checked her out and she works like a champ. After some cleaning up, maybe she will be onthe lines of a Martha Stewart

Looks good WhiskeyRiver. 3/8 is a little more annoying to bend... I like the lines on that spout though, gj.

Looks good make sure the base is weighted so it doesn't get moved or tipped easily!

That's actually a thought I had. Base is 2 1/2" and and top is 1 1/2" flare, the 1" shaft runs through the 2 1/2" to the bottom approx. 3", so it adds even more weight at the bottom when filling. I thought about going 3" on the base, but chose this route instead. It's all pretty heavy and solid. I'm also thinking of mounting it to the column to make sure it doesn't tip over! I've got to play with a few more ideas though. This got me started for right now and helped hone my soldering skills ( or lack of ) some more. :P
