FIREBALL

Many like to post about a first successful ferment (or first all grain mash), or first still built/bought or first good run of the still. Tell us about all of these great times here.
Pics are VERY welcome, we drool over pretty copper 8)

FIREBALL

Post by Skid20 »

Made my first 1/2 gallon of fireball using cinnamon jolly ranchers (about 40) and a smidge of cinnamon extract. Didn’t cut the run back so it was about 180 proof.. It came out pretty tasty, a lot smoother than I would have thought with just the right amount of bite from the cinnamon. That was my third 20g run of birdwatchers, going to mash in some corn this weekend and try my hand at whisky. Cheers

I sincerely hope you aren't drinking 180 proof spirits...!!! It's common knowledge that drinking high proof spirits can do permanent tissue damage, even on the first consumption... Are you a gambling man...??? While you may not notice the damage, there is no guarantee it has or hasn't happened... Would it be wise to subject uninformed friends and relatives to such a roll of the dice...??? Esophageal cancer could be just one of a litany of possible results...

We used cinnamon balls when we made apple sauce last fall. But as Rad mentioned make sure you proof that alcohol to a much lower abv.

Gentlemen of course I cut it back! way to hot to drink like that. The candy just melts easier! Final cut was 90 proof

How similar is this to Fireball Cinnamon Whiskey? Or is Mr P's Fire piss more what I'm looking for?

Fire Piss is more like "Hot Damn"...cinnamon schnapps. Fireball is a cinnamon flavored whiskey.

Only you know what you're trying to make.

After a week on cinnamon I added chili peppers today for 9hrs. While removing the chili's for the night I laid 2 half gallon jars on a camping mesh folding chair. They rolled to the center of the chair and one half gallon jar cracked and emptied on the garage floor. Can't even begin to describe how angry I am with myself at the moment.
