+1 Boomtown.
rollmeown, was the wash a "Turbo"? Something musta' added a bunch of sulfurs to the boiler. That's some "concentrated" copper sulfate stain you've produced.

I am think a leak as well at the connection between keg and head connected with a triclamp. Was the rum wash that had stalled out on my added pickling like to bring ph back up could never get it to go again so stripped it any way. Still got 140 proof but tasted nasty. This blue was left on my keg. Sulphur concentrate? From the molasses?

It was allot thicker than that. Started washing it off and thought I better take a pic and ask someone.

Copper oxide + sulphuric acid = copper sulfate + water.

Re: My first blue...
What is causing this? Sulphur from molasses? I am using deer lick molasses from tractor supply. First two batches came across great no issue. Third was bad and now fourth is bad as well.

Think I gonna scrap last two batches and do vinegar and sacrifical run again. Get every thing clean again and stay away from rum washes.

Re: My first blue...
The mash stalled for whatever reason. Then you did the mistake adding pickling lime. This rised the pH what caused the problem. On the parent siteeis an more detailed explanation. Chapter "Salt" I think.
