First Parrot

Many like to post about a first successful ferment (or first all grain mash), or first still built/bought or first good run of the still. Tell us about all of these great times here.
Pics are VERY welcome, we drool over pretty copper 8)

First Parrot

Post by telefonica »

Made my first parrot today! Never soldered anything in my life before this. Gotta say, it was pretty easy. I generally followed the guide, below. Gonna clean it with a warm soapy bath, and then a warm water / vinegar bath. Hope the collection funnel isn't too tall!

One thing I should mention (and I learned this the hard way) is that soft copper tubing is measured differently than copper pipe! Turns out soft copper is measured by OD while tubing is measured by ID. I ended up buying 3/8" (IIRC) soft copper to fit into my 1/2" -> 1/4" reducer.

Hey! I followed those same plans for my parrot... Mine didn't turn out nearly as nice as yours.
