MY FIRST successful good run of apple

Many like to post about a first successful ferment (or first all grain mash), or first still built/bought or first good run of the still. Tell us about all of these great times here.
Pics are VERY welcome, we drool over pretty copper 8)

MY FIRST successful good run of apple

Post by Queball69 »

Im about 1/2 cup into my latest batch of apple.. first run, i used bread yeast in.. turned out decent..
This batch, i got some 24 hr turbo to use... and let it go, for 36 hrs..
And let me tell you, what a difference, in flavor, and quality!! Well worth the $4.80 for the yeast!!

Now I know what member 'der wo' was talking about when he advocated NOT dismissing Turbo yeast altogether.
I'm a former Turbo user, and gave it up in traditional spirits because of the odd flavor caused by yeast stress.
So der wo's statement puzzled me.

But I remember the taste, and can see how it might complement a fruit.
Congrats on your success, Queball69. Now I can say I learned something today.
