Free Keg

Many like to post about a first successful ferment (or first all grain mash), or first still built/bought or first good run of the still. Tell us about all of these great times here.
Pics are VERY welcome, we drool over pretty copper 8)

BEER KEG.jpeg
My brother pulled this out of the North Sea a couple of weeks ago.

I think this will be the start of my first build

It was sealed luckily.
I've released the pressure and taken the spigot out.
There was even a little cider left in there.

Now to get on and clean her up.

Just be sure it’s stainless wire. Carbon steel wire brushes will F-you up!

I’d brighten & alodine the outside of that bad boy. Looks like a legend ready to be born. Good find.

Copper, all the way.

Given your building skills, copper lends itself to modular flexibility, not to mention its magical powers in removing sulphur compounds.

Plus, copper looks cool.

Looks perfect for a rum style double thumper ala Jamaica or Demerara. I've had some good whiskey from some double thumpers too.

ccvm.jpg
The North sea still is going to be a ccvm i think.
Need to make a RC , i'm waiting for some tri clamps to arrive to complete set up.

How long would you make the RC chaps ?
At the moment the top of the column past the "T" is about 450mm but i could cut it back.

Thanks for reading

you'll need a ladder to operate that CCVM.
Might be handier to have it as a CM or LM so you don't need to go up and down the ladder, reckon that will get old quick
