Hi all, couldn't find a feed back area on the forums so thought this might be the best place?. I noticed on the parent site there using a glass thumper in the thumpers, doublers and slobber boxes section. Was just thinking a lot of newbies would be studying this and following suit. We tend to see quite a few thumpers posted made from glass and they get not such a nice response for it. If the pic was changed it would help cancel out any further such ideas. Don't shot the messenger, just a thought I had and thought I'd share.
Cheers

Yes we have a lot of areas that probably need addressing. When I first started I thought about a tea pot still extracting different herb flavoring to add to my neutrals and on the parent site they also show a small still made from a glass tea pot.

I dont thank much can be done with the parent sight,it's sort like inheriting a old book, what you got is what you have.

No worries, just thought I'd point it out.

Using the right kind of glass matters. There are glass teapots, glass distillers, glass ovenware, hi temp glass insulators, the glass mason canning jars we use to collect our recipe in, etc. Also checking it for defects is important. It's one of the first steps when prepping the canning jars. Look for cracks or chips and discard any jars containing them. If you pick up your pickles off the shelf they were canned with high heat. If they were sitting in a cooler they were jarred, no heat. Plus cycling weakens most materials. Some faster than others. Eventually glass will get scratched and chipped and, if not caught, will crack and leak. I would love to get a wood keg to use as a thumper.
Step up or step aside.
