cooling (amazing) hose recalls

Post by HDNB »

i was brushing up on safety and ran accross this thread:

http://homedistiller.org/forum/viewtopi ... hilit=hose

the wife bought one of these "amazing hoses" - you know the kind that shrivels up like a well used... i mean it shrinks up to a couple feet after you let the water out of it?

learned a couple weeks ago they were RECALLED because if you leave them pressured up for any period of time, they magically seal themselves off at the valve and water quits running. not so bad if you are watering the garden...not so good if you are feeding your condensor with it.

same hose as in the thread ^^ if i'm not mistaken
I finally quit drinking for good.

now i drink for evil.

I have two...they are a cute crap novelty at best. Mine are repairable if they break it the connections. Unscrew move balloon up and re-tighten.

You must also spend time emptying them when your finished using them. I have spent more time repairing them than they are worth.

You're lucky. I overheard a guy loudly complaining to a seller, and everyone in earshot, that he couldn't repair his. I'd been thinking about getting one before that.

They are a compression fitting at the ends with balloon trapped in between two pieces of plastic. If the ends break it takes two or three minutes to fix.
