1 PTFE gasket I cannot find for safety
Hi Guys,
I have changed all the 2" EPDM gaskets in my rig that is fine, also I changed the boiler EPDM thick gasket to a thin PTFE O-ring 8-1/2" the only one that I cannot find to buy is the one which goes on the condenser, below I am adding the pictures of the gasket itself, and some other pictures to show the condenser link, so that maybe some of you could recongize it, I tried measuring it and looking at some online vendors, but could not find a match I think it could be 3/4" gasket but the numbers does not match up.
So the OD of this EPDM gasket is: 1.378"
the ID of this EPDM gasket is: 0.67"
I converted them from cm to inches so I did not round them up, but as I said I find all my other gaskets but with this one no luck at all, so what size PTFE gasket will be suitable for this part. ?

I can't be bothered converting it back to metric so that I know what you're talking about.
How much of that gasket is really needed? You might be able to get away with a gasket matching the ID or OD.

Wrap the hell out of both pieces ,separately, with PTFE tape. Put them in place and wrap more over the two together ,then clamp em together. That's how I do my keg neck and riser ferrule.

Hi, Jb-texshine, this is what I did at the moment, but I really want to buy the PTFE gasket dedicated for this ferrule.

if it's a normal ferrule it's easy.
Just measure the pipe, if the pipe is 3/4 get a 3/4 gasket, it's does not mean the gasket is 3/4, it means the gasket is to suit a 3/4 ferrule.
or get a few ferrules of different size, they cost fuckall.
or get a PTFE sheet, they cost fuck all too, and cut it out to size
or make your own gasket, might be a bit of a pain in the backside with such a small gasket, but it's doable, look up everlasting gasket

Sanitary fittings have a round profile Oring groove in them as well as the flanged gaskets. Perhaps you can get away with using a traditional oring of the appropriate size seated in that round groove. Orings come in a few acceptable materials for our high temperature solvent use. You'll have to look up the size charts from an online retailer to fit your need.
> Solid PTFE/Teflon orings
> PFA Encapsulated orings
> Teflon FEP Encapsulated orings
(FEP and PFA are derivatives of Teflon PTFE and have identical chemical resistance with only slightly lower processing temps)

I just measured my 3/4" triclamp gaskets and measurements are:
ID: .84" or 27/32
OD: 2"
Not a 3/4" triclamp. Hope that helps.

Not sure what size you need, but HERE are a few

i'm not sure what you measured for those numbers, here's what i got:ShineRunner wrote:HDNB wrote:looks like a 3/4 tri clamp. SD sells them

The ptfe on on the left is 7/8" (23mm) OD x 9/16 (15mm)ID available at glacier tanks.
the silicone on right is 1" (25mm) OD X 9/16 (15mm) ID available at still dragon.
both are considered 3/4" tri clamp gaskets, but i'll tell you the ptfe ones are a bitch to do up the clamp with. and the silicone ones, while used all over commercially on vapour path connections...is not an HD approved material.

I guess I was wrong on mine.. I was referring to this:
https://www.amazon.com/Sanitary-Ferrule ... th=1&psc=1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow
The 25mm/1" OD triclamp fits over 3/4" tubing. That's what threw me off. I knew they made smaller clamps, but didn't take the time to clarify what I was measuring.
Sorry for the confusion, OP.
