Dumping mash?

I was making corn mash, and when I mixed boiling water and corn, my plastic non waterproof digital thermometer felt into mash and it took me few minutes to find it out. The hot mash went completely into thermometer, on lithium batteries and circuit board. I am now afraid, that this could contaminate my mash (lithium, soldered board...). It is good idea to just dump whole thing or am I just overthinking it and it will be safe to proceed on?

Unless you also took rectal readings with it I think you are fine. 8) My opinion.

Lol rectal readings... kopi luwak style whiskey? I think the alcohol would kill any contamination. I think you're good, the liquid mostly went into the thermometer but didn't flow through it constantly, and even then... anyway sorry for your loss! Enjoy the mash and run it!

I vote to keep it!

Then clean the thermometer out with heads, air dry and new batteries. Bet it works.

Not a mercury thermometer so don't worry.
