How the ^&$@ do people grind their grain?

All about grains. Malting, smoking, grinding and other preparations.

If you're wanting meal then ya need a flour mill of some type. There are some inexpensive one's out there ya just gotta look. I got one several years ago that's adjustable. It will do everything from just crackin the hull to a fine flour. Can't remember where I got it but it was reasonably priced.

I think you would be very happy with a corona type mill. Mine does everything from cracked to flour. The barley mill types do not handle whole corn very well.

I bought a Corona just for corn, but then I didn't like the feed corn, but I still use it for rye malt and distillers malt, which is smaller in size. I wish I could get better corn somewhere, until then I use flaked brewers corn.

@heefageLA

I have a mill very similar to the one you listed. I bought it a couple years ago on Amazon for about $35.00. My wife was buying some other stuff so I qualified for free shipping. (Good thing, they ain't light.) I took off the handle and screwed in a bolt with the same size threads. Then I was able to attach a drill and grind some grain. The drill makes grinding go a lot faster, which is important since I prefer higher gravity ale. :)
