Can't see the ingredients, but it sounds worth a shot if the price tag is right.
But what the heck do I know.....I am still learning.

Make a small test ferment.
A 1/2 pound of "mo bucks deer feed"
1 pound of sugar and a gallon of water.
After it's done fermenting, let it clear a little and drink some of it.
If it's not to bad, make a bigger batch and distill

bilgris, i found it at our local veternaty clinic. who also sells feed.
finding SF is getting hard, TS does not carry it, walmart is out
local coops are selling the crap with preservatives

from my understanding, it is made locally in Brookhaven MS at Brookhaven milling co
it is available in the south eastern states

well that looks like it should work fine...

I found sweetfeed at a local mill and feed store. I called to order and confirmed it was straight grain and molasses.

when i started mine i was bothered by all the Oats floating on the cap so i was glad when i finally scooped them all out. as the generations passed it worked fine and 50 pounds went a long ways.

one thing the local mill and feed store mentioned to me is they would blend the grains for me in whatever ratio i wanted. that was a nice offer and no extra charge. i figured i would just add my own molasses anyway. i believe they had a certain minimum, but when i get to the point of doing all grain i may order that way.

well best of luck i will watch this thread and see how this turns out with rice bran, corn and molasses.

From the pic it looks like a lot of rice bran, a hand full of whole corn and a little bit of molasses.
In other words, I doesn't look too promising to me.
But I'm often wrong on my first guess.

yeah looking at the picture it seems rice bran heavy. may end up like Deathwish with a touch of corn and molasses.... IF you grind the corn.

good luck

you missed it, it was cutting up earlier,,,puking out the airlock

a 6.5 gallon bucket holds all 40 lbs

i separated the corn from the other..it had 1/2 a 5 gallon bucket of whole corn
i ran it threw a blender.

so now, i have 6.5 gallons [40lb] of powder.

think i should use 1 lb sugar per 1 lb feed ?

then check sg...look for 1050?

How did this turn out? I feed my deer rice bran, and have often wondered if it would make a good whisky. I can say this with certainty, deer prefer rice bran to corn. :D rice bran is relatively cheap, after researching, I don't see much in the way of discussion on the feed store variety of rice bran only brown and white rice. Feed store rice bran is 8 bucks per 50 lbs

Hell, he done drank that up. lol

The SF I buy breaks down and looks like shredded wheat but settles into a nice dark colored beer once the cap falls.

I can't find that brand in Va but I'd like to try it!
