Hello all. I've recently bought a still and was going to malt my own barley, but as a test run I decided to buy some malted barley first from a beer brewing website as it's already crush and ready to go.
The website doesn't give much information about the malt but does the yeast look OK? I can't post the picture but here is a link. Thanks

Is this malt and yeast OK?

It'll probably work fine. Personally, after many yeasts, I have turned back to bakers yeast. It loves to work with grains as well as molasses.

It'll work. It won't produce much aging potential flavor wise. Look for yeasts that claim to have a distinct ester profile or produce lots of esters, but don't produce much in the way of phenols/phenolics.
The still is not a liar. Mash and ferment quality is 99.9% of your performance.

Thanks for the replies I wasn't actually sure if normal bakers yeast would work but I can give it a try
