Potato Vodka

Postby birdwatcher » Fri Aug 03, 2007 4:55 am

Using potatoes to make vodka is simply a waste of potatoes.

Vodka is a mixture of 100 ml 95% ethanol and 137 ml. distilled water.

Hey Birdwatcher,
I'm not trying to be a smart arse....as I know you are trying to get the point out there, but how many of your 207 posts have you're recipe in it? I swear I've seen it in quite a few posts.

May I re-iterate, I'm not having a go at you. :D

PS. this site has a nice search feature

Gentlemen, I hear you and no offense taken.

However, how many times does the same question come up re people having trouble with sugar washes, yeasts, nutrients, making vodka/ethanol etc.

I get tired of people saying read, read, read or check the info supplied by the website even though it is valid. This guy needs some help.

All I can say is, when I was starting out in this hobby, I wish someone had given me step by step instructions to make a perfect sugar wash.

It would appear that Dyerwolf had not read previous posts with my recipe
and you experts were not prepared to step up to the plate and offer assistance on this occasion.

Newcomers to the hobby visiting, interested in making ethanol, I suggest might welcome this information.

Having said the above, I will stop posting the information openly on the forum in future and PM the questioner directly.

Have a good day.

No need to stop posting it Birdwatcher, I was just making an observation.....kinda wished I hadn't now.

Goose eye....I think it would still be a vodka, isn't the pre-requisite to call it brandy is that it's made from grapes.
