Final report out of the 50L of 8kg Sweet potato 12kg sugar wash i distilled 6.8L of lovely tasting Vodka.
I took the time to try some funky ideas over the batches
Batch #1 was cooked as nature intended and tasted nice with earthy finish.
Bacth #2 was cooked with 3 earl grey tea bags and sultanas in a botanics basket. This produced a subtle sweet nose with a soft peachy sweetness and a floral finish
Batch #3 was cooked with 3 earl grey tea bags with sultanas and dried pineapple. This created a delicious tropical scent the taste was sweet with a subtle sour finish
Batch #4 had a slight miss hap so i was forced to blend it with some white wine i had in the barrel. This produced a strong sweetness but not as nice as batch 2.
Each batch was triple carbon filtered before blending into my 4.5L oak barrel. I will leave until just before Christmas and bottle off for my polish family drinks.
Initial sample taste is a very naughty 55% deliciously smooth vodka perfectly paired with fruit.
All of which i accomplished with my AirStill
Thank you MCH for the idea looking forward to improving my process
