Using off cider as a wash

Post by whoomit »

I made a batch of pear cider and then forgot about it, and it went off. Absolutely stinks of sweaty socks...

If I distill this will the off-flavours remain?

Thanks for any replies, may save hours of slaving over a hot stove for nothing!

Mix 20ml neutral alcohol 40-50%abv with 2ml of the wash. If you now like the smell, you will also like the distillate probably.

Very useful, thank you.

Still smells/tastes rancid. Think I'll give this one a miss!
