Crab apples?

Crab apples?
Got a bunch of crab apple trees on my property with an intense sour taste. Deer love them and I hate to take their snacks from them but I was thinking about filling up a bucket full if there was any use? Can I make a brandy out of this? Anybody tried it?

They mature and sweeten when they have been frosted or frozen . That might be the time to ferment them .

I've never distilled them, but an addition of about 10% crab apples made us a nice hard cider. I wouldn't push that too far, as they are very acidic.
They can be used to make a nice vinegar.
