Would C&B DADY be considered a turbo yeast? If not, is my my addition of a serious pro workout nutrient regimen going to make it a turbo yeast?
I use epsom, dap, b complex, multivitamins, PH adjustment, and linoleic acid
I have fast ferments (3 days to 15%) and I like my product. I've tried turbos in the past and this doesnt seem to have all the diacetyl that I smelled in the turbos. I'm just wondering if I should tone back my nutrient regimen and deliberately ferment slower.
I believe this yeast is rated to go to 22%, but, I only push it to ~14-15
One last question. Would a turbo still taste like shit if I only pushed it to 14-15%?
Product description: "SuperStart Distiller’s Yeast (DADY) Alcohol tolerance to 22% (1 lb. bulk pack): Ferments up to 22% before slowing. Use nutrients to obtain the highest alcohol level prior to distillation usually not used for wines or beers. Sufficient yeast for approx 500 gallons Optimal fermentation temperature is 90F +/-2F. So for those of you in hotter climates this may be just the ticket"
Thanks
