flavoring shine with flowers.

Post by dukethebeagle120 »

has anyone ever flavored shine with apple blossoms or pear.
they smell great in the spring and i was wondering if the smell would carry over into shine
also, clover has a great sweet taste to the petals
has this been tried.
i am really interested in infusing.
its better to think like a fool but keep your mouth shut, then to open ur mouth and have it confirmed

Alcohol is very good at carrying some flavours - 3 or 4 leaves of meadowsweet, will flavour a litre in a few days. A few halves of dried apricot - the same. Honey, I've never been able to make it carry at all.

In infusion, it's much a case of "suck it and see" - do let us know what works for you 8)

I just made a Chamomile spirit that is delicious. I used dried Chamomile and soaked it in 60% hearts for 30 minutes. After straining I used the same chamomile for a "second soak" on more of the 60% hearts. Both were delicious, but everyone who has tried both like the second soaking batch.
