Sugar History >>>

I was wondering to discuss here about sugar history....

Sugarcane originated in tropical South Asia and Southeast Asia.
It means originated in India and New Guinea, depends on the specie we are talking about. The break point was how to crystallize sugar during the Gupta dynasty in India. A process that evolved over time, the original essence of keeping sweetness safe.

Hi Julio,

Honey is our oldest known sweetener.
Sugar arrived in Europe around 1000 AC but it was not widely used until the 16th century.
Sugar was extremely expensive, and was known as “white gold”. A rise in sugar production increased in the late 15th century and In the 17th century, most European countries had colonies throughout the world where they could grow their own sugar cane.
Cheers.
