stilldrinkin.com, realmccoymoonshinestills.com, and rkhelp.com are rip-off artists. Beware before you buy.

Most houses have PVC/CPVC plumbing, and some sort of flexible plastic hose extensions somewhere.

makes me love my britta filter even MORE!

Most houses (that I have seen), use PVC only for waste dump (and non-pressurized).

But I drink out of the hose a lot. I will make damn sure it is flushed properly.

Some of the newer houses are using a kind of flexible PVC because it's cheaper and doesn't attract criminals. Also, they may be used in places where stiff copper just can't be run. Most houses, however, still use copper.

I liked this little statement:
Consumer Reports wrote:Many hoses are made of polyvinyl chloride, which uses lead as a stabilizer.

Another reason why not to use PVC with high alcohol. PVC filters, anyone?

being in the "water business" I can asure that there is no problem in using plastic in supply sysstems.... just as long as the product is certified for "contact with drinking water" just as referred to in the site. Some chemical parameters of the water might influence the migration of hazardous substances in to it so you should always analyse your water and compare the results with the material's tolerances... (sorry for my english if its too bad)

using plastic in fermenting/distilling operations doesn't seem a good idea... but you know that better than me...!
