I should send them a message and see if I can have a sample of their first batch. :D

The newest post. Can't wait to hear the replies about the wheat whisky descriptions.

I went on a tour/tasting of their distillery just after Christmas. They're putting out a fantastic product. I can't wait until June when they release their aged whiskey and rum. They're both really hard working guys and even had their mom in there hand numbering and labeling every jar. For $30 a bottle, I don't think what they're putting out is all that expensive.

That's awesome Washashore. I'm in Australia and the majority of the small craft distilleries are producing their products mostly for export. Schlubs like my self can't afford these amazing products due to the exorbitant taxes placed on distilled spirits. A bottle of Sullivan's Cove double cask 8 year old single malt whisky fetches $110 from the distillery door. The only reason I've had the opportunity to sample some of the local craft spirits is that I've served it in the bar I worked at, and the majority of the punters I served had no idea that we even made whisky in this country.

There are micro-distilleries starting to pop up all over the place. The micro distillery is the new micro brewery! Back when I used to visit Nantucket, the brewery there (cisco brewers) had just secured their license to distill spirits and were the only ones in New England to have the license. This was about 10 years ago.
