On a personal note I have always preferred drinking beer from a bottle over a can but also agree with the above comments. Just the next gimmick to come along. It's interesting and reminds me of a wine tour I did years ago, when getting information from the local chamber of commerce on which wineries to visit the person made a comment that some folks just buy the wine for the bottle rather than the quality. I wouldn't think women would choose wine from a can (hope that didn't sound sexist) and it will be interesting to see how long the fad lasts.

Interestingly they mention that this canning thing is an effort to get away from all the other "gimmicks".

I have had the stillhouse moonshine before and though it was pretty good. But it was very expensive.I would drink it again if someone else was buying .

Could have purchased a very high quality whiskey for just a few bux more.

They had a pretty expensive package that I'm sure was driving up the cost.

It's quite clever marketing...looks like a can of acetone from Lowes...tastes like....? We have a winery in our area that packages its product in a plastic gallon paint can, looks great... tastes like shi#! ! Kiwi

I can see the economics of it.... less chance of a broken bottle..... like Kiwi Bruce said It makes me think of Turpentine...

but in the end if the product is good... i can recycle a can like that , it would be covertly placed amongst the workshop shelves but again that wouldnt be safe end up with a swig of Zylol that would be fatal...

wonder if its a paper label that can be torn off....

This really opens a whole new thought process, I was looking at marketing not recycle but having stainless containers cloud make this more valuable to the purchaser. However I got to think it will be a lot more expensive to produce SS cans than glass bottles.

YA know, if this gimmick makes them money, more power to them. I'm a purist, to the point that, well I'm on this site aren't I...

That said, I am curious of any liabilities in this, if any. Any time you package a common product in an uncommon container, there is frivolous liabilities abound.

I have a 1 gallon stainless steel flask my son gave me as a gift. It has my boat name on it, thus I can't show a picture but it is a hit at yacht club functions with fellow college alumni. So it isn't as if holding or storing alcohol in stainless steel is anything new.

The cans are unbreakable so in this aspect they are safer than glass bottles.
On the other hand: if they look like cans for turpentine or other nasty stuff, they are dangerous.
Once I stored turpentine in a beerbottle. And not paying attention I almost drank from it. In some sort of reflex my hand felt a bottle of a nice drink and almost put it on my mouth.

So I decided to keep drinkable and not-drinkable fluids in very different and distinct packages.

I guess the best way to tell this stuff from the solvent in the garage is that it does not appear to have a childproof cap.
If you can open it without pressing down then you can drink it!!!

You can or use to be able to buy spirits in hip flasks, not keen on the fact that these look like some sort of poison tin. I knew a bloke that drank spray seed that was stored in a wine bottle, his pitiful death was drawn out and torturous

Walking thru home depot today,saw the solvents and cracked up laughing! Had to show this thread to my wife to explain. After reading it she replied" What kind of stupid ass motherfxxxing govt jackass approved this shizz!!! And a legit business came up with this? Godxxxx idiots should been drowned as kids!" My wife don't appreciate stupid.
Drinking alcohol in solvent cans is its own special kind of stupidity...

Nothing says a flute has to be round HMMMmmm cut the bottom out of one, use the hole in the top for a downcomer, drill some holes, duct tape...I mean solder the cans together, a few other minor things and you have a flute Problem is you would have to drink turpint...I mean that moonshine to get enough cans to make it and I'm not willing to buy or drink it but maybe somebody will find a bar that serves it and throws out the cans and can put one together. It would be kind of neat to see all the different cans stacked up making a nice product.
