Found a botlle of three year old kaluha. It was good when made and time made it better.

I'm once again drinking Sam's Club Rhumsky.
Another year or two it could be a tried a true recipe.
Except every time I make it the recipe, fermenting, distillation and cuts change.
But the ageing stays almost the same, it gets drunk young with friends and family.

I havent had a beer in like 3 months. My son brought out a 12 pack and i had a few while we grilled some meat. Sure tasted good. However after dinner and a torrential downpour we (I) got a bonfire going and I went back to sippin some UJSSM. My Granddaughters kept wonderin what was in the half pint jar and my wife and I had to shooing them away !!!

I'm trying to drink some shine made from malted sorghum.
The local farmers are growing sorghum for export to China, for making beer and liquor.
Figured to see what it tasted like.

I agree completely with you Jed, I'm excited heading up to Proof because I get to taste it again! And this time I'm going to read the label!

I am sipping on my first UJSSM Gen 1 its night and day better than the stuff I purchased at the liqueur store. Ran it last night and gen 2 on the way. This has about 2 lbs of rye in it.. next time might add more.. Rye flavor very mild

Some Birdwatchers over ice, always a great recipe to go to, also had some branflake vodka but I am going to macerate some cherries in it with a spoonful of sugar and leave until Christmas.

Fourth pint in on my Pale Ale, tad warm but not too bad in this weather, plenty of hops and a moderate strength (4.5%) for supping.

Was sipping a light rum last night. Not much of a rum drinker, but I made it for my wife and it looks like she's not gonna be drinking it, so what the hell. It's about 3 months old and not tasting too bad, but I like SF or UJ much better.

Well over the last couple of weeks I am finding that I am getting MUCH better at cuts.
My protocol on stripping runs has always been to save a pint of Hearts. So far those have always been very tasty. On Spirit runs i usually end up with 4-5 qts of keepers. Lately I have been working through the first few runs of my UJSSM. I have found that I find the cuts to be drinkable they are not as good as my final cuts on spirit runs and that my later spirit runs SHOW that I am gaining experience on making some decent Likker...
Tonight I am enjoying some 3rd generation UJSSM from a spirit run. I can definitely taste the Tails. They are interesting but still just a little sour/undesired. Dont get me wrong it is definitely drinkable but it is a work in progress....
This is an awesome hobby...

Still store bought from my ever growing whisky/whiskey reference library. Tonight Blanton's single barrel 93 proof Bourban, a bottle I haven't visited for two or three years. Caramel, vanilla it is better than I remembered. Not a favorite, but it is enjoyable tonight.
My library has grown by leaps and bounds since I discoveries this wonderful site and exponential increase my knowledge related to our " Liquid Hobby". I thought I didn't like whisky for decades only to realize I could not stomach Bean or Jack.

Two fingers of 5th gen white UJ, presented to me by TruckinButch earlier this week.
It sits in the bottle at barrel strength, crystal clear, and heart of hearts.
Proofed down to 90, this stuff is great, very smooth, mellow flavors. I'd be reluctant to oak it at all.
This is a cool glass of "doin' it right"
