Yes, it's the 6.1. I only have 5cl and a friend and me we share it.

Laphroaig 10 is such incredible expensive in the cask strength version. It's a shame that the normal 10 has 40% only. I have the Quater Cask at home. Only a little more expensive than the 10, but 48%, a good deal in my opinion.

A while back I stocked several 750ml cask strength on special at $52ish each, it is up to around $75-80 currently. The 6.1 was just under $150 when acquired it, the other reason it is not often visited. Many whiskys/whiskeys in my library have gotten too expensive for me to justify replacing them when they are gone.
I can savor a small pour of very fine whisky for less than the cost of a six pack of beer at home in most cases or a draft beer with a meal in a restaurant.

Right now I am savoring my first all grain bourbon! It's the one that I thought I made so many little mistakes on that there is no was it will be good..... It isn't good, its F**KING fantastic!

Since this 12 gallon all grain I have moved to 30 and 40 gallon mashes that I hope will be as good as this is... maybe because it is my first AG there is sentimental value.... Maybe because I have had several glasses of it...

I love this place...

I'm drinking a 3 year old shine made from 100% malted wheat.
Steam stripped then run twice through a 4 plate column for a total of 9 distillations.
At 100 proof it's smooth and has more flavor than the law allows for vodka.
A friend gave part of a jug back to me,
there's no way in hell something this good would have lasted 3 years on my farm

My 13th generation UJSM.
Single run on a pot still, no thumper.
5 gallons of wash yielded 3.5 quarts of 93 proof Likker.
Aged on glass for about a month, it's as smooth as a babies bottom.
I sip it straight at room temperature from my "Drinkin' Jar".

Had a snifter of 2015 Apple Brandy, cask strength 120 proof. Smooth caramelly sweet warmness. Still working through '12 and '13 vintages so this baby has time to age, but is tasting pretty fine already. Nothin like collectin up a passle of free apples and making 16 quarts of heaven.

My doctor told me to have more fruit, so I made a drink from oranges today, one from mandarin oranges yesterday and now I'm drinking a homemade limoncello which I made last week.

A bottle of fruit a day keeps the doctor away :D

Drinking some Caol Ila "Moch". A young single malt. Peaty, nice, not too much wood.

Lately, I've been sipping on a bottle of KAVANAGH Irish whiskey. It's a welcome change from the two week old home hooch I generally sip.

I was wondering if there were any “bogtrotters” around here that knew if it was a Catholic or Protestant spirit? Don't mean to offend anybody. Calling someone a bog-trotter might be a little more offensive than for a “redneck” to call his neighbor “hillbilly” or vice-versa. I don't know.

Checking the term from a Chinese browser (Maxthon) and using a Russian search engine (Yandex) returns mixed results. Bog-trotter could designate a parliamentary whip whose job it was to run around checking all the toilets in the building, collecting party members before a vote. A bogtrotter could mean someone who eats too much cake or an ugly woman who still looks bad even after fixing herself up to go out partying. Nevertheless, I found Wikipedia's list of slurs – informative...

The great thing about many of my customers being craft brewers ... is that, when they come over, they bring some of their beers. Usually. Yesterday I drank a barley wine made by an Irish customer. Great stuff. At 11%. I usually don't like barley wine, because the alcohol can be so dominating, but this one was great. Tonight I am drinking half a liter of their imperial stout. 8.5%. Coffee & Choclate. Great beers in their categories!

I think I will finish the evening off with a shot of my now 6 months old (6 months in the barrel) whiskey. 45% rye, 45% wheat, 10% malted barley. On virgin Hungarian oak MT.

Regards, Odin.
