Did some bottling today. The large bottle(750ml) is going to my son for his 29th birthday. The round bottle(375ml) and the sauce bottle(5oz) are going to a couple of friends. I've gotten tired of giving away all my stock, so I'm going with smaller bottles. The smallest and the largest are Square One vodka bottles. Windy City and Jimbo got me hooked on cucumber vodka with ginger beer.( very refreshing!) the bottles have an interesting shape and are corked. It's very good IMHO. the other two are from Packaging Options Direct. Very good selection and prices.

Your son is a lucky man.

My youngest turned 21 this year and I told him he could have a bottle of his choice.
He chose froot loops. I still love him just the same.

As if light beer ain't pissy enough the Danes have a 'Super Light'. Appropriately enough they have it next to the bottled water.

My SF/C shelf.

Did another run today and got some of the white airing out. Put some of the sweetest hearts on oak (lighter color jars).

Rest has been sitting.

Got 20 more gallons to run and picked up another fermenter and keg. Going to get some half gallon jugs today and other assorted things.

I broke my wort hydrometer AGAIN dang it.

So, do these colored malted corns make any difference in the taste of the output?

I love that barrel pic Jed!

Been trying to talk my neighbors out of a couple of barrels they had gotten for their kids wedding reception.

Eventually they'll get tired of moving them around in their garage.

I dug the barrel out of a friends barn. It was stamp with a fill date of Nov 23,1966. I have the groceries for another ferment. Then the plan is to do a spirit run on the 50th anniversary of the fill date. Then use the oak from the barrel head on the spirit.

I like your thinking Jedneck..it's almost poetic.
After all those years in a barn, didn't it leak? Or did you fill it with water to let the wood soak some of it..?
Good luck with that anniversary run..hope it will turn out as a excellent drop.

Dane
There was only two of hoops that where somewhat tight. The middle four fell off when we picked it up. After I got it home I put the hoops back on the bottom and removed the head, then installed the rest of the hoops. I kept the barrel full of water for two weeks and it still seeped through a few worm holes. Cooking the mash sealed the few seeps up and no leaks.

Nice Jedneck! Be perfect to get some that wild yeast living in the barrel so no need to pitch yeast any more.
