When you buy, what do you buy, and is it as good as yours??

What do you drink, and how do you drink it?

Jed, you do say the nicest things! Thank you.

Clancy and I did a taste test of our first 4 (10 gallon) barrels on Saturday. We are making some fantastic stuff, which will likely be ready mid March! I'll get you a signature bottle! Thanks for the endorsement!

Hey guys, I know it's late, but we are in the middle of a spirit run here, and we just passed over another milestone in our new distillery...

Thought I'd share it with you guys.

Today, we sent out under FedEx our first long distance deliverables. Yep. Now you can buy Uncle Lum's no matter where you are, if FedEx can get to you, we can get it to you. Long as you've got a business we can send it to.

We are still selling our First Release Misty Morning (white), and our waiting list for our first straight whiskey is at 40 people today. We've been allowed to sell now for 12 days.

BTW, it's colder than a banker's heart here right now, and snowing.

Just let us know when and where we can buy it.

In the interest of getting access to HD commercial distillers products without people getting weird about advertising, maybe we could set up a sticky thread somewhere that *just* contains info/links for buying?

I'm having some Palmetto Moonshine right now, it just turned up at my local package store and is pretty cheap.

I've got the peach. It's not the greatest thing I've ever tasted, but it'll definitely do when I haven't gotten a run in for a while and I don't want to touch the aging stock.

Spring Mill and Knob Creek single barrel are my favorites right now.

My go to whiskies for cheap libation are Billeit Rye and Jim Beam devils cut.

A couple other honorable mentions are Whistle Pig and Angels Envy (haven't had the rye).

Thanks Raketemensch, and everyone for the best wishes. The question of how you can buy some; P.M. me with your name, a business address, and a telephone number. We'll have to work up the details through FedEx to complete the pricing.

Also, if you go to Facebook.com\Griffin Whiskey, we can work through details through their chat center. We will not be putting an actual 'on-line catalogue' on the website until our sales volume will offset the costs.

And because H.D. has been such a big influence on our conceptualization and development, special considerations will be given to H.D.'s members.

When I buy spirits it's always Bundaberg Rum.

They make many variations of rum none of which I'm yet to dislike
This year they produced a Rum that was awarded World's Best Rum at The London World Rum Awards 2016!

I managed to get my hands on a bottle of that particular batch.

I'm hoping to make something that closely resembles Bundaberg Rum one day.

I went to a happy hour last week for a coworker leaving the company and had a chance to sample some Woodford Reserve. $14 a drink and I was not impressed at all. Very headsy, did not taste mature. I was quite surprised. I also had a drink of whiskey from a local distiller Catoctin Creek that wasn't too bad. They did a fair heads cut so it was smooth but another year in the barrel would have blended the tails a bit better.

I just had some of Catoctin Creek's Rye. It was good. I know what you mean about more time in the barrel, but it was a respectable whiskey.

On a tour of my distillery this weekend, I had the pleasure of meeting a young lady that is an employee of Catoctin Creek. She was in town for a wedding and decided to tour my distillery while they were here. She's supposed to be sending me a bottle of their Rye in the mail and I'm excited to try it out.

I had it at a friend's house. I'm in central MD, but I do have some friends near their distillery.

i almost threw out my shoulder patting myself on the back.

heh heh. funny story.
i pulled out a bottle of Dalmore 12 yr old last night. had a little sip and thought...man that tastes just like my whisky, i must be getting good at this... I recall mine almost a perfect clone of this Dalmore.

enjoyed it so much, i thought i'd have another sip tonite. thats when noticed the july 2015 COB label on transparent tape. so apparently my whiskey is a an exact clone of...my whisky.

heh. heh. hmmm...

(at least i liked it)
I finally quit drinking for good.

now i drink for evil.

I didn't bring any homemade with me on vacation, like a dumbass, so last night I picked up a bottle of Bully Brothers white whiskey. And nope, I'd much rather have my UJ, even at like 2 days old.

Just when you think it couldn't possibly get any better, Australian music reaches a new pinnacle of audio excellence.

Gotta try me some of this Bundaberg Rum!

So, I haven't found anything commercial that I've liked better than my own for about 9 months now... Until tonight.

I picked up a bottle of Rowan's Creek, which is mighty cheap for a 12 year... Very tasty stuff.
Edit: Huh, it's a KBD. Still damn good for an oak tea.
