This stuff is something else!
Chocolate, fruit, spice barrel character is in the distant background. The spice is something like mint, almost menthol, is this what people call eucalyptus?
Wow, this is what I hope craft spirits aim for.
The world does not need more barrel forward spirits.
It's time for the commercial operations to start accepting what homedistillers have known, ingredients matter, ingredients flavor impact can be the central focus of a spirit.
Man, this stuff is really good.

I haven't seen their rye up in washington. I'll keep an eye out. I've had their corn whiskey and single malt and both were good. If you haven't heard it, there's a good podcast with the head distiller from balcones on https://asmwpodcast.com/

Re: Balcones Rye!
I tried this the other week. It is indeed flavorful, but not my cup of tea (but then, I don't drink/like coffee).
If you like coffee, you'll probably like this stuff.
If you like ryes, check out Redemption High Rye Bourbon. It's got a nice bite to it.
Another really good one is Rittenhouse bottle in bonded.
