Simple 2" pot still using A type keg spear valve to connect

Post by maheel »

A while back some one posted up asking about using different ideas to connect 2" to a keg
thought someone else might like the idea if they need it :)

using a A type keg and valve is something i suggested at the time
the lump of pipe was siting around looking ugly so i turned it into a pot head.

I cut the valve on the red line and filed it a little on the yellow
i flared the 2" copper a little and hammered the valve up there
soldered it in and there you go
a bit of thread tape and it will seal no drama (or the flour paste)

Nice! .....did you use a hacksaw for cutting the flange off? ....if so, that must've been a pain.

yeah hacksaw
but once you break into the inner circle hole it cuts pretty quick

but i did another with the 5" grinder and a 1mm cutting disc (much easier  )

Good job mate. Nice tip for the folks here.

D style are more common for me, those A style ones look easy.
You design it, I make it. Copper and Stainless. Down under. PM me.
