keg conversion kit
Hi, so I'm looking at building a bigger boiler from a 15 gal sanke. I notice a lot of the conversion kits recommended here contain rubber gaskets... How are these safe? Is there a recommended distributor that sells these that isn't a small fortune? I'm fine with doing my own soldering, but have no interest in building my own from scratch. Even the cheaper ebay setups seem to use a plastic gasket...

Use a silver soldered triclamp connection. There's a radiused version from brewhardware.com that is pretty nice. It's more work and more expensive up front, but it's nice.

Use ptfe gaskets. You can cut off one side to make a gasket to fit the skanke valve to 2" triclamp. They are pretty cheap from brewer supply places.
