More Texas Copper Porn
Just a little pic of my "Bonnie Blue" posing for a little copper porn. Just finished a run of Odins Bran Flakes and cleaned her up, getting ready to be stored for a few days.

Fine looking piece of equipment. Can it talk? Love to hear some stories...
Re: More Texas Copper Porn
She's made a few batches since I built her. I think the Texas Gulf coast gives the copper a premature patina,as she's not even a year old yet. She talks alright, it's just that I am only recently learning to understand what she's saying, but the purr like a kitten when into the hearts makes my heart melt. This hobby has given me a legitimate girlfriend that the wife actually welcomes. Can't wait to go for the all-grain route, just having hard time finding some of the grains in my area. It is almost impossible to find even a sweet feed that is all grain with no pellets, since the native Texas grasses are so low in protein and fats for the livestock. All the feed stores I went to tell me they only stock pelleted sweet feeds for that very reason. Nearest brewing supply store about 25 miles away, just haven't managed a trip there to check for grains. Maybe next week!

Instead of asking for sweetfeed try asking for all grain horse and mule feed with molasses. Most feed stores have sweet feed without pellets but call it something different.

Thanks, I'll give it a try. Can't hurt.

If you're at a place that sells bryant feed. Ask for hi energy horse and mule.
Re: More Texas Copper Porn
Tried just about every approach I could. Grass here in southeast Texas just too bad for feed stores to justify selling unpelleted (protein added) sweet feed/COB/ sweetened all grain horse and mule feed. No big worry. Gotta batch of HBB in the still warming now. If it turns out like I think it will, I won't need to go back to a sugarhead again! Thanks for all the suggestions!

Re: More Texas Copper Porn
Holds 6 Gallons. Leaves me the room for 5 gallon runs. She's spitting out some mighty fine HBB at this moment, down to 90 proof, right in the middle of the hearts right now. Thought about building a bigger one, but now I see this is the perfect size for me. I'd just drink more if I could make more!

Cool..
My boiler is a milk can 25 L (6,6 Gallons) and that's fine for my needs too.
For "average" consumption and a few bottles for close friends, I find that size convenient.
Not sure if I wanted a full-size keg or the like, even IF I had space for it.
