here ya go

Salisbury Steak
A very different Salisbury steak recipe that I adapted from a source that I cannot remember.
We enjoy it served with a ruby port mushroom sauce.
Serves 4

***1 lb lean ground beef
***1/2 cup milk
***7 tbsp instant potato flakes
***4 tbsp butter
***1 onion, halved and sliced thin
***1 pounds thinly sliced button mushrooms
***1 tbsp tomato paste
***2 tbsp flour
***1 1/2 cups beef broth
***1/4 cup ruby port wine
***1 tbs Lea and Perrins worcestershire sauce
***Salt and pepper to taste

1. Whisk milk and potato flakes in a large bowl. Add beef, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp pepper, Worcestershire and knead until combined. With wet hands, shape the mixture into four oval patties and transfer to a parchment paper lined plate. Refrigerate for 30 minutes, or up to 4 hours.
2. Melt 1 Tbsp butter in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties until browned, about 5 minutes per side. Transfer patties to a plate.
3. Add onion and remaining butter to skillet and cook until onions soften, about 5 minutes. Add mushrooms and 1/2 tsp salt and cook until liquid has evaporated, 5-7 minutes. Stir in tomato paste and flour and cook until browned, about 2 minutes. Stir in broth and port and bring to a simmer. Return patties to skillet , cover and simmer over medium-low heat until cooked through, 12-15 minutes. Season sauce to taste and serve with hot mashed potatoes and green beans.

well worth a try

I assume we add crispy fried bacon to the potatoes

as you Americans cannot get enough bacon

sounds better that using canned soup for the sauce

what does the milk and potatoe flakes do to the mince

might have to look for potatoe , maybe a product called Deb

the milk and potato just give it a binder for one, but also changes the flavor some....It's one of my favorite parts of the recipe.
