Hi I'm a reporter with the graduate school of journalism at Berkeley and I'm writing a story about micro-distilleries and home distilling. This is a business reporting story so that's the lens that I'll be looking through, but I'm interested in speaking with anybody who can share something about distilling and micro distillers in general.

Topics in particular that I'm interested in are:

Legal information
cost of home operations and micro operations
genera growth of industry (micro distillers and potstill manufacturing)

Thanks, any help is greatly appreciated.

Please feel free to contact me at

that's the topic about UJ's mirco distillery

I think you'll get the best info from the though distillers among us, the ones who have distilled for decades.
for example, interviewing me would not be interesting.

I think if you ask to the person, almost everyone will accept an interview

Have you spoken with the people at St. George's Spirits in Alameda?

I think they also head up a national micro-distillers society so they would be a great resource.
