I think Taters estimate is now even more realistic... (Total members 8985) as I post...

I notice we're at 10 050 members.

When did we pass 10 000?

Was Mud Mechanic's the closest guestimate (November 15, 2011).

If so

The 10k has been breached last week. Problem is, there has been SO much spam bot signups, and these have been nuked as soon as we are sure what they are, that we dropped about 20% of the users over the last year, and today, we are deleting about 80% of the signup's each day.

There have probably been 4 to 5k user signups deleted over the last 6-9 months, due to being junk.

So, it looks like this 10k 'will' stay. We hit 10k last spring, but then UJ did some cleanup's, and dropped that number to about 9k. Then a month or so later, I did some cleaning that again dropped it to 9k or lower. Since then, I have been actively removing these garbage accounts several times a day, so they do not even have a chance to collect dust. But to say it in another way, we ARE now over the 10k number, and should stay over that number.

You were very close, indeed.

I help run a small forum and when doing a clean up of members that haven't logged in for 12 months or more we lose about 10% each time.
Lots of people sign up on the spur of the moment and never log in again.

I'm sure you find this happens here as well.

It's a full time job just keeping on top of the clean up at times.
