Anybody get any good deals lately?

Little or nothing to do with distillation.

I want enough for a bottle of cinnamon schnapps, Goldschläger, one sheet will do. I'll try a cake shop before I buy off the net.

Want to share a great find that a friend shared with me. I know people are a little cautious of ordering supplies in the internet, especially with the TTB heat lately, but if you make beer this is a great cover, and very handy.

http://www.homebrewing.org/5-Gallon-Cor ... ?AffId=366" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow

Used 5 gal Corny kegs for $34.99 plus $10 UPS shipping. I apologize if this is seen as advertising but I have zero affiliation with this vendor. My friend bought a bunch of these to test the quality, and they arrived in beautiful condition. The site is giving free new o-rings with each keg purchase.

I just picked up 2 for myself, one to store my stripping runs in til I have 5 gallons worth to do a spirit run. And one to keep finished product stored as I am running low on 1 gal glass jugs. Plus I was getting a little nervous after hearing some stories about keeping all my nice finished spirits in glass jugs that could bust anytime.

They arrived very clean, one had some left over soda syrup in it, but cleaned up very nice and easy. All stainless, best deal I have found on these yet.
Well, between Scotch and nothin', I suppose I'd take Scotch. It's the nearest thing to good moonshine I can find.

:D Got this from the neighbour today as he has put a new one in, had to strip it down to this stage but only took a few minutes...holds 35 gallons or 157.5 litres. Not sure which direction i'll go with it but have a nice copper reflux condenser in my shed which might fit?

Well, he said as it is it holds 35 gallons but I'm sure it will only hold 25 when it's done. Right, Tal?

New Zealand is one of the few places on earth where home distillation for personal consumption is legal so the boiler size issue is a gray area... But, yes, aside from legal distilleries we prefer boiler sizes talked about be 25 gallons or less... If it's marginally bigger just call it 25 gallons and that way new members won't get the wrong impression that bigger is alright...

Nice score, Tal...!!!

Dang Rad, you are getting soft. I completely agree. It is legal there, don't chop up a great score like that. Make a heat shroud to make it more efficient and you are good to go. The extra room is to avoid puking.

Hey Rad, boiler size is not a grey area here in NZ, I have a letter here from customsNZ stating there is no limit on our boiler size. :)

Is that a copperhead Tal, dont they have a rubber bung connecting the condenser to the column?

From what I understand they are a pot still with some packing in the column, Couldn't get you to take it apart and take some photos could you. I have asked the dude who makes them for some specs, but he won't give them to me, he says it comes with a full user manual, and I have to buy it before I am allowed to know about it :)

Alembic NZ has nice copper stills, but none with forced reflux (as i recall) beautiful pot stills in a variety of styles though - I'm 1/2 way to being able to afford the one i want. . .

Went to walmart yesterday (I hate going to walmart) and they had a few clearance racks near the door and people were going all through them. Looked like random crap and I passed it by on the way in. Walking out I saw a lady pick up a bin and I'll be damned they had stainless corrugated gas universal connection line kits in there! The longest they had was 48" and it was marked 15$ so I headed back to the check out with one. When I got there they told me it was marked down to ONE DOLLAR.. I ran back (don't take the word "ran" to seriously. These old knees ain't long for runnin'..) and grabbed another one.

I got 2 48" bare stainless corrugated lines for 2 bucks with some extra ss fittings.
